Pale Gloom

This still life is a self-portrait of sorts displaying tools I use spiritually and physically to cope with various aspects of my life. I worked one segment at a time, layering color pencil and alcohol marker until completely burnished, and white and silver gel pen where it was needed. While the objects in the front are physical representations of what I use within my life, I also included lyrics to songs that have helped me through difficult times in the background of the piece. These lyrics illustrate what is typically going through my mind, both the lyrics themselves and the concepts they show.
