Lucky Bet

This painting was a commission for a relative of mine’s friend who was getting married. The painting shows her and her partner attending the derby. I wanted to capture the feeling of being in a separate world when one is with the one they love. I did so by abstracting the background and focusing the details on the two subjects. The patron requested a loose, almost impressionistic style, which was fun to experiment with within acrylic painting.
