Hand-me-downs

Within my family, there is a history of neurodivergency and mental health issues that have been passed down to me. I do not blame any members of my family for this, but it is something that I do have to cope with on my own. For this photograph, I wanted to make obvious the symbolism of two baby hands grabbing the tools necessary to function. Many of the adults in my life who have the same illnesses have helped me seek ways to improve my quality of life. Rather than this photograph showing the handing off of a burden, I see it as a necessary transaction made out of love.
